The James L. Knight Center has been adamant in recent times about booking popular talent and attracting area residents to the downtown scene.  It is one of the older venues in an area of Miami that loves “new,” yet the cozy Knight Center has been stable and survived the bustling metro area.

A neighboring restaurant, the Chop House Restaurant, says they’ve seen growth and economic stability thanks to the James L. Knight Center, which is located a block away.  They have seen their locale packed before and after events at the nearby venue.

Also near to the center is the bustling downtown Miami hotel, condo, nightlife and music scene.  Located just off I-95 and near the growing Brickell area, the James L. Knight Center is in a prime location to continue flourishing.

Downtown Miami is well-known as an area with lots to do and see, but something that’s always been prominently absent? A supermarket shopping center! That is now in the midst of change, as plans have been revealed to open a Publix in 2012. The store will be located conveniently among the new downtown Miami luxury condominiums such as the Marquis Residences, and just steps away from the Adrienne Arsht center. While there is currently a Price Choice market in the area, the Publix is set to be part of a huge retail super center offering more retail space for the downtown Miami area.

According to a study from The Miami Downtown Development Authority, 74% of the condominiums built since 2003 between Brickell and SR 112 are occupied; proving that downtown Miami is one of South Florida’s fastest growing residential areas, thus showing the value of a grocery-flagship shopping center.
